Directions
To 7 St George's Road
By Car
From London
Take the A4 out of London heading west.
At Hogarth Roundabout, where there is a 'makeshift' flyover in front of you (for traffic coming the other way), take the left fork onto the A316 and head for Sunbury and the M3.
Keep on this road until you get to the outskirts of Richmond and a big oblong roundabout known as Richmond Circus. Do not take the first exit into Richmond! Take the second exit and continue ahead on the A316 going West to Sunbury and the M3. You will soon pass under a high pedestrian bridge. Continue on A 316 over Twickenham Bridge to the next roundabout (The St Margarets Roundabout).
You will have passed St George's Road on your right but there is a no right turn (don't try it!). So you must double back at this roundabout, towards London on the A 316, and take the second (real) left into St George's Road.
No 7 is about 5 houses up on the right hand side.
From the West
Get to the M3 heading towards Sunbury and London
Keep on this road as it turns into A316 heading for London
Go straight across four roundabouts, always keeping on A 316 towards London
The roundabouts are:
1 Hospital Bridge Roundabout (with traffic lights)
2 Whitton Road Roundabout (with traffic lights)
3 London Road Roundabout
4 St Margarets Roundabout (with traffic lights)
After St Margarets Roundabout take the second (real) left, into St George’s Road.
No 7 is about 5 houses up on the right hand side.
By Train
By Train to Richmond
There are trains from Waterloo and also in the opposite direction from the South West.
There is also a District Line Tube which terminates at Richmond
Come out of the Richmond station main exit onto The Quadrant. There are usually taxis in the forecourt if you want to take one.
If you want to walk, it is an attractive route and takes about 15 minutes. This sounds more complicated than it is!
Turn left out of the station and then immediately cross the road (The Quadrant) via the pedestrian crossing. Turn right on the opposite pavement and then turn immediately left down a pedestrian alley way. At the end of the alley turn left into Parkshot. This quickly turns into Little Green.
When you reach the Little Green itself, take the diagonal path across it to the right (walking away from Richmond Theatre which is behind you and to your left). You soon cross a road (Portland Terrace) and proceed onto the main Green continuing in the same diagonal direction on the path. When you come to a crossing in the path in the middleof the Green, take the right fork and continue on the path to a road. Cross this road in the same direction (and slightly to the right) into Old Palace Lane. This curves left and then takes you past the White Swan (on your right) and down to the river. At the river turn right and go under the railway bridge and then under the road bridge.
On the other side of the road bridge, take the steps on your right up to the A316 and turn right going west. Take the next steps on your right down from the bridge and turn left, walking along the Avenue in parallel with the A316. When you reach the A316, St George's Road is next on your right.
Walk along St George’s Road past four houses and No 7 is on your right.
By Train to St Margarets
St Margarets is on the same main line as Richmond, one stop further west. It is nearer to St George's Road (a 10 minute walk).
Turn left out of St Margarets Station. Walk towards the roundabout on the A316 at the end. Take the pedestrian crossings so that you cross the A316 and end up on the right of the roundabout, so that you are walking down the A 316 on the northern side, going eastwards.
St George's Road is the second (real) turning left. We are five houses up on the right.
